Mine has been a journey of discovery.
Throughout my career as an executive coach, I’ve taken corporate roles enabling me to provide advice. Armed with undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology, I launched into the world of consulting to deliver answers in the workplace. It was always exhilarating to develop and implement a solution for a client, and see them succeed by applying it. I also coached, but within the context of consulting . Over the years I shared my skills across multiple industries on three continents, learning my clients’ cultures, challenges and leadership styles, while helping them transform their businesses.
But in the back of my mind, I felt something was missing.
Of all my experiences, none had been as personally and professionally fulfilling as coaching. Seeing my client’s eyes suddenly open wide with insight, or seeing spirit and motivation renewed and redirected… these were really the richest rewards…and they were the result of coaching. They were so much of a reward, in fact, to give me pause and ask myself what I should really be doing.
Today I focus on coaching executive leaders and teams.
My executive coaching work is informed by two decades of global business experience as an implementer, recipient, and an observer of transformational change. My background gives me a unique perspective…I can see business challenges panoramically from the viewpoints of sponsors, change champions, stakeholders and even customers.
I’ve learned that my executive clients want more from a coach than someone who asks deep questions, more than someone who holds up a mirror to them. They need a coach who has experienced the throes of corporate change and can relate to it; someone who knows strategies from tactics, and knows something about how leaders think.
Onward Executive Coaching was started to fulfill a career-long desire: to help clients fulfill theirs. I look forward to helping move you, your team, and your organization, onward…toward the vision, the goals, and the future state that await you.
